The DAVOSA Argonautic TT shows at first glance that it connects the worlds: the worlds of land and water; of those who dive and those who go ashore; of tradition and innovation, or also the worlds of elegant accessories and precise tools. Most striking is the visual impact of the DAVOSA Argonautic Bronze TT: While the case is made of satin-finished stainless steel, the distinctive bezel with an illuminated dot in the triangle above the twelve is made of the centuries-old nautical material, marine-grade bronze. While it initially gleams in a warm reddish-golden tone, it will oxidize over time and develop an unmistakable patina that makes each piece unique. No watch will be like any other later on. The textured black dial under the scratch-resistant and anti-reflective sapphire crystal bear the suitable inscription Vintage SuperLumiNova in the color "Old Radium" on the indices and hands. The waterproof, 22 mm wide integrated rubber watch band is also black, with stainless steel folding clasp. Overall a combination that is as elegant as it is distinctive. The 43 mm diameter and 13.5 mm height of the case also are not least in representing this.
Underwater, the DAVOSA Argonautic TT scores with all the features of a professional diver’s watch: The case with screw-down crown and back is waterproof down to 300 meters and equipped with a manual helium valve at the 10 o'clock position – this protects the watch and the diver alike: When the valve is open, the lighter helium molecules escape from the case first, which prevents the crystal and crystal seal from being blown open by excess pressure so that the watch will maintain its function as a reliable timepiece. Dive times can be set precisely by using the rotating bezel ring – and thanks to the clearly structured dial with SuperLumiNova on the indices and hands, it is possible to read them quickly and clearly at any time, even underwater. Regardless of which world you are wearing the DAVOSA Argonautic Bronze TT in, it always runs precisely and reliably: The Swiss automatic DAV 3021 movement with a power reserve of 38 hours makes sure of that. And the individual engraving of the model number on the case back as well as the elaborate wooden packaging are reminiscent of the fact that it remains an exclusive one-of-a-kind piece.
I own many dive watches, and in the past have owned many more. Some high end, some low end, and some in the middle. Somehow, the Davosa brand had escaped my attention, until now. I came upon the Davosa website by chance, and was immediately captivated by the sheer beauty of the Argonautic TT, which of course means two-tone. I very much favor two tone watches, rings, bracelets etc. when the colors are white metal and yellow metal. This combination allows the wearing of jewelry of either color, or both at the same time. I stared at the Argonautic TT photos for many minutes, and I couldn't get over how beautiful and classy this watch looked. I placed my order, exchanged a few emails with customer service (more about that later) and in a few days had the watch on my wrist. I must say, as good as this watch looks in photos, the photos really don't do it justice. In person the watch is simply stunning. The contrast of the stainless case, bronze bezel and black strap and dial works perfectly. Also, the helium release valve at ten o'clock lets you know that this watch is more than just a pretty face. It looks excellent there and states that not only is the watch beautiful, it is a serious piece of equipment. It is like a very ornate firearm. Beautiful to look at yes, but still a highly capable tool. I won't state all the other features of the watch, they are listed on this website. I'll just add that rarely does a watch go as well with a tuxedo as it does a scuba suit, and rarer still at this price point. The bang for your buck value of this watch is just spectacular. I would be remiss if I didn't mention the customer service dept. of Davosa as well. One word, EXCELLENT, is how I would describe it. Talk about going above and beyond, these people go beyond beyond. They are amazing, and I thank them for their unfailing courtesy and professionalism. I could not be happier with every aspect of my first Davosa purchase, and I am quite sure it won't be my last.
