The “12” o'clock position is clearly marked by a triangle; a cursory glance used to be enough for the pilots to recognize the position of the hands unequivocally in order to reliably read the time. The large Arabic numerals and additional indexes on a black background as well as the diamond-shaped hands underline the good legibility. In addition, all elements are noctilucent thanks to the use of the latest SuperLumiNova BG W9 luminous material, which illuminates the dial with a blue shimmer in the dark. A stylized airplane motif with a red tip on the second hand takes up the theme of "flying" in detail.
The additional functions, date and day display, are discreetly in the background thanks to the tone-on-tone paintwork in the same color as the dial.
The Newton Day-Date is also available with a navy-blue and stone-gray dial version, the digits of which are applied and satined instead of the luminescent digits.
