Description

Some watches don't have an easy time of it. On one hand, they have vital functions to perform, while retaining a characteristic allure on the other. Many watches find it hard to rise to this often a somewhat contradictory challenge. Not the case with the redesigned Ternos Professional TT from DAVOSA. This timepiece is a consummate professional and easily accompanies the wearer down to depths of up to 500 meters. And after punctually resurfacing, it makes a truly eye-catching statement on the wrist.

Sure! Even one of my relatives want to get one now :)
Service Level: Customer service and overall experience was great. FedEx was less impressive as the watch travelled all over Western Europe without an update or delivery period.
Ternos Professional 500m diver

The watch was delivered as promised in perfect, new condition. It was carefully packaged with all the purchased products.
I was surprised to see the watch separated from its box. it was wrapped separately in bubble wrap with all the protective film still attached. I’m sure the watch would not fit in it’s box with the protective bubble wrap.

This watch appears to be a solid professional diver and carries some heft. The metal bracelet definitely contributes to its weight, but is very comfortable. This watch is about 2+mm thicker than many of it’s competitors and stands tall on the wrist; however is still fits comfortably with a long sleeve shirt.

Timekeeping is accurate so far, although my watch was delivered only one week ago. The **** down crown is secure and requires several turns to release. Setting the watch is easy and provides the same amount of resistance comparable to other luxury watches I've owned or worn.

The watch is nicer looking on my wrist than on the website, but the date is harder to see than I expected.

Beautiful looking watch, built like a tank

I bought my Davosa Ternos Professional 500m from the official online retailer Aysco, LLC. The team at Aysco, LLC went over & above to make me happy price-wise & they also made sure that they had exactly the watch I was looking for - black dial, black bezel/lunette, 500m water-proof. It took only 2 days to arrive at my door-step - delivered very efficiently by UPS. The wactch was very well packaged - the original watch box was shrink-wrapped to a sturdy piece of cardboard inb the shipping container ensuring that it would not move during transportation. I needed a really sharp knife to tear the plastic wrap. The actual watch box is very well made - glossy piano black. Upon opening, there was the watch I wanted! The complete watch was wrapped in plastic - dial top & bottom, braclet, clasp in blue plastic & a paper insert at the open-close so that there would be no finger nail scratches. Took a while to wrap all that plastic & I could not get it done fast enough so that I could try on the watch!
The watch is big - 42mm - that is the max diameter for my 7" wrist. Heavy - it's heft reminds me of another dive watch I've handled. The sapphire-domed crystal looks thick (for the 500m water-proof) & limits visibility from an angle when I turned my wrist to get a sideways look at the watch. I suppose this is normal. The dial looks great - black with applied markers & the inverted triangle at 12 o'clock that U wanted so badly. Love the mercedes hour hand, lollipop seconds hand & long minute hand that reaches to nearly the circumference.
Beautiful glossy black ceramaic bezel. Turning the bezel was difficult. This is one of two gripes I have. Maybe it's brand new & needs several turns of the bezel to get it working smoothly? I could feel the metal bite into my fingers. The bezel had a little play in it - the bezel inverted triangle is just teeny-weeny bit off from the 12 o'clock marker on the dial (not talking about the inverted triangle on the dial but the vertical marker at 12 o'clock on the dial). I t became apparent when I looked at the lume in a dark room - lumed dot on the 12 o'clock is just a hair off & to the right. I decided to ignore this as the rest of the watch is really very nice.
Very thick/chunky bracelet links that can take the weight of the hefty watch. Adjusting them to size is a breeze - I needed a small flat-head screw-driver. Thankfully no push pins in the bracelet! There are 4 micro adjustments in the clasp to make the fit perfect - I personally did not need those adjustments.
Nice clasp but I would say that it is not the strong point of this watch. I own cheaper watches that have a much better clasp action. Nevertheless, the click upon closing is reassuring.
The crown is nice & big - very easy to handle & smoothly unscrews. I had a little trouble pulling out the crown to position 2 to set the date. A few tries & I was successful in doing a quick-set of the date. The movement the ETA 2824-2 - Davosa's internal version of it. It's a hacking movement so when the crown is in position 3, the seconds hand stops & you can set the time to, say, NIST. Winding the watch with the crown in position 1 had a very nice buttery smooth feel to it. I would the dead-stopped watch about 30 time. I was apprehensive of over-winding it. Not sure if the 2824-2 has a clutch that prevents over-winding? I hope so such that it's idiot-proof! Nice action screwing back the crown.
I've been wearing it & it's a pleasure so far. It's ticking well & the date is correct. I have not measured the accuracy - that's my next to do. I've been admiring it so far...
I do like the fact that it does *not* have a cyclops at the date window. My choices for a homage watch were limited since I did not want the cyclops. Personal choice. YMMV.
Overall I am satisfied with my Sea Dweller homage watch. A few niggles but nothing I could overlook in the grand scheme of things. I would recommend this watch - it's best value is to buy it at a discount . If you are to pay full retail for it, then I would hold Davosa to a higher standard. if I look around and see the competition.
